Welcome to LodgingGuide's hospitality industry listings for the Indianapolis area.
Indianapolis is in the center of a largely rural state, and the legs of the Interstate Highway system which go in all
directions intersect here like spokes at the center of a wheel. This Crossroads of America is at once a town insulated by
farms from the pace and chill of big city life, and at the same time the only sizeable town in the vicinity where travellers
from all directions pass through, stop over, or stay for a while. Indianapolis for generations has accommodated and welcomed
customs and cultures from everywhere, and has been enriched by the interchange, but never has lost its country
identity or pace. This play of intense commerce and geographic isolation has produced an honest and open-minded all-American
town with a lot going on all the time. The Indianapolis 500 attracts racing fans from all over the world, and has made Indianapolis the racing capital of the world. This mix of cosmopolitan attractions with a local feel has facilitated commercial development so much over the last decade that Indianapolis now is the 12th largest city in the country, and still growing quickly. You probably will be visiting Indianapolis to attend a convention or some world famous event, but while you are here, take the time to notice what a uniquely genuine and friendly American town you have had the fortune to find.
